Spring Cleaning

Spring is upon us

We often feel inspired to get some cleaning done when the sun is shining after a long winter. Despite the brutally chilly weather outside, it is indeed spring. While you’re busy getting your spring cleaning done, don’t forget to come in and see us for your oral spring cleaning!

Spring clean your teeth

There is more to spring cleaning than just your floors; follow these tips and tricks for a fresh start to your oral hygiene this year!

Replace your toothbrush

Noticing some wear and tear on your current toothbrush? It is important to replace your toothbrush or toothbrush head every 3 months. If you replaced it the first of the year, it is time to replace it again! It also seems the second round of the flu is making its way through town, so don’t forget to swap your brush after being sick!

Stock up on floss

Just when you thought we would stop bringing up flossing…flossing is an important part of your at home oral hygiene routine. A third of Americans NEVER floss their teeth and we want you to be a part of the two-thirds that do! Flossing helps remove plaque; plaque contains bacteria that eats away at remains from food or sugar. This bacteria releases acid that erodes the outer shell of your teeth and causes cavities. Using a flossing tool daily is important to clear plaque before it turns to the tartar that only Dr. Tim can remove!

Schedule a cleaning

Coming in for routine cleanings is beneficial in various ways. We recommend a cleaning and exam every 6 months. Getting your teeth cleaned by a dental professional is important for removing build-up and keeping your smile healthy. An exam by Dr. Tim helps to spot issues before they become severe and costly!

More than just playing outside

Once the weather warms up in central Illinois we will all be heading outdoors after a long winter. Spending time exercising each day can help prevent periodontal issues like gum disease. A study done by the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found a direct correlation between exercise and healthy gums. It’s more than just exercise these days!

Smile Bright

This spring we want each of our patients to be confident of their smile! If you aren’t happy with a part of your smile we would love to help change that.

If whitening, veneers, or crowns are something you’ve thought about let us know. We would be happy to consult with you about your options to help your smile look and feel it’s very best!
